Children's Eye Exams
Children's Eye Examination
Many children may have vision problems that affect their learning and development, but most do not complain about their eyesight because they assume that what they see is normal. At Clairhurst Eye Care, we recommend infants receive their first comprehensive eye exam by six months of age and yearly exams thereafter.
Why Eye Exams Are Important
Eye exams are more important than you may realize. Even if you don’t have noticeable vision problems, the doctor can identify eye conditions you may not even know you have during the exam. Some eye issues don’t show any symptoms until they become severe. Furthermore, our doctor will provide treatment and management options to address any problems detected during the exam.
Pediatric Eye Care
Children’s vision and eye health are essential for their development and learning. Our doctor can detect and treat eye conditions that may interfere with the child’s academic performance, social skills, and self-esteem. At Clairhurst Eye Care, we specialize in pediatric eye care. We offer comprehensive eye exams for children of all ages, from infants to teens. Our comprehensive eye exams evaluate your child’s vision, eye health, and eye alignment. We also screen for common eye conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), and refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism).
Myopia Control
As children grow, their vision can change quickly. Recently, there has been a rise in cases of myopia (difficulty seeing distant objects clearly). Myopia (nearsightedness) can affect their learning, sports, daily activities, and even retinal problems. Our doctor can give advise on ways to prevent or slow down myopia progression, such as maintaining good visual hygiene and myopia control. (Read more)
